As of June 2012, no film has been made of the Vampire Academy series. However, in June 2011, Preger Entertainment optioned the film rights for the series, and then revealed a month later that Don Murphy (producer of Natural Born Killers and the Transformers movies) will be in on the project.
About the Vampire Academy Series
The Vampire Academy series consists of six novels written by American novelist Richelle Mead. The books fall into the paranormal romance category and are aimed at the young adult market (teenage girls in particular). The books are set in the present day, in a universe of vampires (both good and evil); half-humans, magic and alchemy.

Okay for those who want VA to become a movie I've been on Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy website and it says that someone by the name of Michael Pregers of Preger Entertainment has brought the film rights for VA, so therfore VA will be made into a movie and I'll give you the website so you can check all this info out and read about it yourselves

And to those who think VA shouldn't be a movie because it'll ruin it then you don't really like it because if you did you wouldn't care how it turned out like you'd just love it because it's VAMPIRE ACADEMY so quit saying that it would be horrible to make a movie about it because it will 'ruin' it like it did with Twilight but really you actually don't like it as much as you should because you don't want it as a movie! According to recent interviews with author Richelle Mead at the moment there is no Vampire Academy Movie in the works. Fans have created trailers and ideal cast lists but until a studio negotiates with Richelle it's just fandom. She has sold options for her Georgina series but there is no guarantee that will be turned into a T.V series or movie.
There is no movie for VA yet. As a fan of all 3 series mentioned in the post I have to agree the vampire academy is one of my favs. I feel like it is actually a mix of the three (being twilight and house of night novels) and I also agree that if done correctly this movie could be my new favorite movie. I have to say twilight was a huge dissapointment and I totally agree the the best actor in it was taylor, none of the others were chosen right at all. The second was a tad better even though the acting didnt pick up the special effects held the movie together., I really hope there is a movie though for VA spirit bound comes out tomorrow and I'm making my bf stop on the way home from work just to get it, currently rereading the series to catch back up. : ) so excited
I have searched the internet every since I read the books. I read them before blood promise came out. They are amazing and so much better than twilight but they havent decided weather or not they are going to make a movie yet. I hope they do and I can't wait for spirit bound to come out on May 18, 2010......Yay!!!!
They better make a movie if not I will flip out on everyone I see. I am absolutly in love with the books. On all of he web sites I have looked at it said that they were on some, but other said they were not. The vampire academy books ar the best books that I heve ever read in my life. I thought that twilight was good. But va totally kicked it's rear end out of town. I love the books. They better make a movie. If they do not I will cry my eyes out. I also want her to keep writing books. Like a never ending series just like warriors or what Eva there called. They need a good never ending series for once in life.

I never really thought I would be able to say that I like a series more than twilight. But when I picked the vampire academy books up I was amazed. Its so much more really than twilight and has that really love worth the fight. And its not like rose is some weak little girl who always needs to be saved, they save each other equally. They definitely need to make these books into movies.
I'm not sure if there is going to be a Vampire Academy Movie or not. But, they better make one, because it will be such a better movie than Twilight ever was. Spirit Bound is coming out in little over a month. I'm so excited I'm going to piss my pants! I hope there is some Dimitri action somewhere, and you can read the first couple of pages of Spirit Bound on her website. I did and it was amazing. I'm in love with a book.
I hope they do make a vampire acadamy movie it will be interesting to see who they get to play everyone and how they fit everything from the books in to the movie and I hope that if they do make a movie it will be as possible accurate as they can get it. I'm tired of watching Vampire Diaries with a brunet elean in the book shes blond and well they got a lot of it wrong obveusly the writers for the show DID NOT read the books. Fail on their part.
There's no movie yet, but on youtube they're trailers that were made by fans. I was first very excited when I saw it (I didn't know, that the trailers were made by fans), but then I was like 'you got to be kidding me?' 'cause it was veeeery bad. I really hope there's going to be a movie, 'cause I adore the books! The VA series are WAAY better than twilight. And by the way. If there's going to be a film, there are going to be new actors! I prefer newcomers. :D VA FTW!
There is no movie in the works as yet but in an interview with richelle mead (the author) recently she said if it ever did she would need unknowns as actors because the characters are unique to her and she doesnt want people who are associated with other characters.
If you like Vampire Academy you should read House of Night. It is truly an Amazing series! And there are 7 books out as of right now. The next is Awakened and it comes out in January of 2011.
I hope they only make a vampire academy movie if they plan on going all out with it. If I was a writer I wouldn't let my book be turned into a movie that barely resembles the storyline....or leaves the vital stuff out in favor of filler scenes

I want the author to get new actors. Nobody who was really famous before. Like Robert pattinson was or gabarei sinnabe or whatever the heck the girl in precious's name was. But not untill I can audition 4 rose!!!
Twilight was good intill they made in in to a movie bc of the actors that was played in it, I mean Robert pattinson is not ugly but he is not the right guy to play edward, and kristen she made bella look stupid like she had to take a lot of breaths just to get the next words out, then she was always catious when kissing robert, I mean I knw she was kissing vampire but didnt she want to be changed, so why should it matter if edward bite her or not ?? I mean theres no way he could have killed bella.... But tayler played jake really good, I have no bad things to say about him lol :) but wht I'm saying about VA is if they get a really good derictor and some grate actors I know the movie will be alsome:) I'm glade she is taking the time to decide on a derictor bc I rather have an alsome movie of it then a realy bad one:) but VA rocks and it is BETTER THEN TWILIGHT!!!!
