Gorden mcrae
The line 'When you walk through a storm' is the first line of the song 'You'll Never Walk Alone' which was sung by Frank Sinatra in the year 1945. The song had earlier been used in the musical 'Carousel' where it was sung by Christine Johnson and Jan Clayton. The song as well as the musical came at the time of World War II. Thus, many of the listeners were able to identify with the messsage that the song conveyed.
There were many covers that were performed over the years by a number of artists and the song has reached the Billboard charts repeatedly. In America today, this song has come to be synonymous with graduation day. Its use has been so widespread that in some places it is used as an anthem for sports teams while in the others it has also been sung to the peace keeping troops.
