Elvis Presley is one of the most well known personalities of the world. He was an American singer and an actor. He is termed as the king of rock and roll and is considered as a cultural icon.

Elvis Presley was fond of singing since early age. He made his first public performance in 1945 when he was only ten years old. He sung for a singing contest and won the second prize.

He formally started his career in the year 1953, when he went to Sun Records to record "My Happiness". However, his formal career did not start until the next year when he was chosen by Sam Philips of Sun Records to sing commercially. His first song that aired on radio was " That's all Right". The date was July 8, 1954 and the DJ was Dewey Phillips.
