When we watch tv we usually see many images of violence and people hurting others. The problem with this is that it can become traumatic especially in children.Kids that are starting to grow and are sharping their personality values and beliefs can become aggressive or they can lose a sense of reality and fiction of what they are seeing.
In past years there have been some cases of kids carrying guns to school and even hurting others with it.Those kids have been linked to excessive use of violent video games and war games

People watch the violence and do not see the REAL effects of that violence. Violent games have the same effect where the object is to kill the enemy. With all the fake blood, it does not register what it would really look like to see a dismembered body and REAL blood all over the ground.

TV violence just does not have the shock value real life violence would have if you experienced it up close and personal.

Don't you think the more realistic producers make TV and video games the more "desensitised" we'll become though?

It's like war reporting - when you first hear/see about a war on the news, it seems really shocking. But once it's been played over and over again... a car bomb here, 30 dead there... it all just becomes statistics.

No, the leading cause of violence in today's society is the existence and conflict between rival gangs, usually based on drugs.
