The best places to look for footage from Silent Library will be on the official MTV page for the show at www.mtv.com/shows/silent_library/series.jhtml and on Side Reel at www.sidereel.com/Silent_Library

Silent Library is an American television game show which airs on MTV and the MuchMusic channel. The series is adapted from and based on a popular element of a Japanese variety show and also has similarities to the British television program Fist of Zen.

The show first aired on 28 December 2008 and there have been 89 episodes across 4 seasons so far as of July 2011. The set of the show is constructed to resemble a public library. Teams of six players sit at a table with three people on each side and the host of the show Zero Kazama sitting near the entrance to the library.

The show then takes the following format:

• Six cards are placed face down on the table and each player picks one and flips it over
• Typically five cards are green and 'safe' while the sixth has a yellow skull and bones which means that the holder must endure a 'punishment' challenge
• While the challenge is in process, there is an on-screen indicator indicating how much noise is being made by the team. If the noise goes into the 'red zone', the team automatically loses the challenge.
• The game is played in 4 rounds, with 3 challenges in each of the first three rounds and one in the final round. Each round is played for money and the winnings are split between the six members of the team at the end of the show.
