Tom Jones, the Welsh singer first garnered a hint of fame when he sang with 'Tommy Scott and The Senators' in 1963. Initially Tom was taken in as a replacement when the band's vocalist Tommy Redman dint turn up for one of their shows. The band's leader, Vernon Hopkins, then approached Jones and using a crate of beer as an incentive and persuaded him to perform with them. It was here that Tom says he discovered his true passion for singing.
With every stage show, Jones' performance only got better and bigger. He also made a rather distinct fashion statement when clad in all black leather for his shows. Within the next few months he was looked upon as being one of the most impressive vocalists in Wales. However, his dreams were much bigger and began efforts so that The Senators would become popular even in London, the then music capital.
