Hi guys, i a new to this forum. I have been wanting to get this off my chest for a long time. I am a christian and i have posted something about this same topic on a christian forum. It;s great to hear your opinions and that some of you here might be christians. For those of you who are not christians, i welcome you all the same.

I wanted to share this with all of you guys as this regards the topic if Selena is a christian or not. I am a 19 year old guy and i live half way across the world. Initially, i had a crush on selena Gomez. The reason was because she seemed different and nice from all the other actors. She is beautiful and i admit that i liked her a lot too( i am human after all:). Furthermore, she dressed up properly whenever she went out in public and was a role model to young girls. However, my respect slightly decreased when i saw pictures of her in a bikini. She wore a purple bikini on her vacation in 2008 and most recently, she was seen wearing a bikini on the set of monte carlo in france.
Now, i know that all of you are going to ask me what is wrong with Selena wearing a bikini and you might accuse me of being old fashioned and crazy. However, i was raised in a conservative family and taught buy my mom and through the bible that the body is a sacred thing that should not be revealed in public. God said that all christians should dress modestly wherever we are as a reflection of Christ's glory and love. If a christian were to wear a bikini, it would be disrespectful to God an yourself. Your body is meant for your spouse alone, not for guys to look at. I know that we must not judge and i am not judging Selena. I myself am imperfect and God has shown me mercy on more than one occasion. What i am trying to say is that if Selena were a mature christian, she would be aware that the eyes of a male are like heat seeking missiles. I know that it is not entirely the girls fault and that guys should control their eyes too. However, tempting us to sin is equally as bad as well.
If a guy saw Selena Gomez in a bikini and tells you that he is not thinking of lustful thoughts, he is lying because none of us are without sin, me included. The point i am trying to make is that Selena wears a purity ring, claims that she is a christian, and then goes on to break the definition of purity by immodestly dressing in a bikini. She is basically telling all the girls that look up to her that it is okay to sell your body on the beach for a few bucks. Once again, i am not judging her guys because i am a sinner who has been saved by Christ. All i am trying to say is that she should realize the consequences of the way she dresses as she is inviting guys to lust after by making herself an object of desire. That is not what a christian should do. If you want to find proof from the bible about how a practicing christian should dress, i will be more than happy to oblige. This is my view and i know that some of you might not have thought about this topic before. Don't get me wrong! I still have a crush on her, but i will respect and believe her claims more if she covered up a little bit more. But then again, who am i say all these things?:) Anybody can comment and please do tell me your views are. I respect all of your opinions and i hope that you respect mine too.

( p.s By the way, if any of you want to ask this question "If Selena can't wear a bikini on the beach, what is she supposed to wear, a burka? " My response is that there are plenty of modest swimsuits out there and even olympic swimmers wear a one piece swimsuit. Wearing a bikini is the same as going out in your underwear. You are half naked.)

Helloo did anyone except for one other person here even give an actual response to what was originally posted? Yeah sure the question is, "Is Selena Gomez A Christian" but give credit to the guy who spent ages typing out why he thinks christian's should act christian instead of just blurb it out.

Anyway, I one hundred percent agree with the first witer. I have no idea about Selena tbh but I am also a Christian believing from when I was little and a strong believer in Jesus and that he died for me and my sins. I live in Australia and am turning 18 and am a girl. I used to have a really huge crush on Robert Pattinson who plays the lead in twilight. Up until I saw one disgusting photo of him facing a naked woman wearing nothing but a wig and stockings, he was wearing a suit and had his hair jelled and his hands around her waist with an unattractive grimace on his face. I was immediately angered by this and replied to it stating that the photo had lowered my view of not only Pattinson but of all actors who participate in such activities.

One of the admin of the site replied rudely saying I shouldn't have referred to him as RPattz, that he 'has' a name, and that I shouldn't have knocked him like that. This only angered me more and so I replied with a rather long message which basically said that the people who pay to watch his movies are people who actually work, not leech off of other people to live the high life. I left it at that and haven't looked back as my comments have most likely been deleted knowing that person even the slightest. I am not judging these people and Robert Pattinson, I am disagreeing with them and what they do. I am against actors full stop.

I just think the majority spend their time fulfilling selfish desires, whereas it would profit me as a person more to help people who don't have these privileges. If God made my fate to be famous, I'd dedicate most of everything I earned to the people in this world that need it. I never thought I'd see it but on the news there was this multi-billionaire business man in his seventies who gave up everything for people who don't have anything themselves. He doesn't have a car or even a house and he travels to help people, buying cheap accommodation. The highest priced thing he owns is a sixteen dollar watch. Kudos to him, now that is truly someone to look up to, apart from Jesus of course.

Anyway. Now this next thing I will tell you about just goes to prove you can't judge a book by its cover. Justin Bieber. Before I knew what he was about I thought this exactly: 'he's just some kid who went on youtube and became someone who gets away with dating girls who are older than him by the bucket load and thinks he's so cool when he's so not.' I thought all this and joined in laughing about it with my friends who had the same opinion and pretty much still do because they are unaware of what I'm not anymore. I continued to judge him right up until I saw an interview of him in which he came right out and said when asked about religion, "I believe Jesus gave his life for me on a cross." Boy, did I have to swallow my words. I have such an urge to meet him and ask him questions to see how much he knows about God now.

Before, if anyone asked if I wanted to meet him, I would have laughed and then made jokes about his first haircut with my friends. Justin has far more haters than followers because stupid people like I was are jealous of his talent and that he has so many girls who like him. If anything, he made me realise that it doesn't matter where you're from, it's where your heart's at that counts. He made it because a music producer saw him on youtube. On YOUTUBE. And look where he is now?! He has his own movie, this boy from youtube, has a movie. Nothing is impossible. If you think you've got what it takes, post yourself on youtube with your talent, whether it be your voice or dance, or even both. Do it because you love to do it and who knows? There might be another producer out there looking to promote anyone they see with potential. The point is. Don't judge because you only judge yourself when you judge others. And you know I felt so so bad when I knew I had said bad things in the past about him, man did I repent.

I totally agree with being modest and I don't choose to flaunt my body even when I know I'm blessed with a nice one. In fact I'm so against seeing people who look like they're wearing their underwear in public that I stay away from popular beaches and even pools in general. Thanks to the first writer for standing up for what's right and what God would be proud of you for. :P

Actually halloween has Christian roots. It was turned into a pagan holiday later. People just assume it is bc most people dress up in occult attire. However, the early Christians wore occult attire on hallow's eve because they were mocking satan and declaring that satan has no power over them. The trick or treating came from poor people who would go door to door begging for food. The Christians would give them bread and bless them before they left. But like all good things, they get corrupted... Oh well.

I go to a Christian school, and we are not allowed to have halloween parties, just because a couple moms were really strict about it, but i celebrate it and all i think it means is getting candy. The scary costumes, I think have nothing to do with the devil.

Um excuse me, guest, but its sorta technically impossible for it to be the devils birthday considering he never had one in the first place. He was a very powerful angel, until he was kicked out of heaven for trying to get more powerful than God, which is also impossible. But Holloween in fact means "Holy Evening", the day before All Saints Day,though it has become a misconception as an evil holiday because of all the evilness people MAKE of it. I am a Christian and i celebrate Holloween.

The devil dosnt have a birth day he was made the same day that all the other angels were, then like what Sccrlvr26 said he was kicked out of heaven because he was jealous of god

Celebrating halloween doesn't mean anything.   I can't think of any little kids that don't go dress up and go around and get candy.  Just because you "celebrate" it, doesn't mean that you're worshipping the devil.

Halloween is celebrated for the devil but its not his birthday. Its not good to celebrate it because of the demonic things like wiches goblinghosts and other things like that so you shouldnt celebrate it!
