Sadly, yes. The star who is best known for his role as Mafia boss Tony Soprano from the hit HBO TV series The Sopranos passed away whilst in Rome, Italy.
The actor was attending an Italian film festival, and suffered an unexpected heart attack late on Wednesday 19th 2013 - at the age of 51.
Initial reports suggested he had died of a fatal stroke, but it was later confirmed that a heart attack had in fact been the cause of his death.
He leaves behind a wife and two children, and millions of adoring fans around the world.
