Is Robin Roberts Gay?

It appears that yes, Robin Roberts is gay, although she never actually confirmed this herself. Not that Robin Roberts sexuality should actually matter to anyone.

• Right to be Oneself

Everyone should have the right to be who they are, without having to declare their personal preferences every five minutes and without fear of being persecuted. What do people expect?

Nobody expects other people to go around declaring that they are heterosexual, so why should it be different for homosexuals and lesbians? What goes on in anybody's love life is their business, no-one else's.

• Chick-fil-A

The one time Robin Roberts' sexuality did matter was when her appearance as a speaker at the Chick-fil-A Leaders' event, early in 2011, caused an outrage among those who are campaigning for equal rights for everyone.

Apparently, the Chick-fil-A chain is known to actively support hate groups. An appearance at this event by anyone is consequently dubious, but for a person who is supposedly gay to be seen to support them caused a huge stir.

• Sad World

It is a sad world where people are more concerned with an individual's sexuality than their health. Questions whether Robin Roberts is gay abound, but nobody seems concerned about her health.

Considering that she had to undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatment for breast cancer during 2007 and 2008, one would have thought somebody, somewhere would inquire about her health.

But that thought does not seem to occur to anyone. It is so much more important to know who she chooses to sleep with. Humanity is supposed to be more educated and enlightened than ever before in history.

Homosexuality or lesbianism are as normal as heterosexuality, science has proven that. Yet still many treat it as something that needs to be gossiped about. Why?

So what if Robin Roberts is gay or not, it's no one's business but her own. Robin is a beautiful woman inside and out and I can't wait until she's in good health and back on GMA. I really miss her.
