"The Interview" is available to watch now online and in selected independent movie theaters across the United States. People in other countries will either have to wait, or use a VPN (Virtual private network) such as CyberGhost.
"The Interview" is currently the most popular video on YouTube, which is hardly surprising after all the controversy.
However, North Korea are not happy and have labelled President Obama as the "chief culprit" behind the movie, so it unclear how long the film will stay online for. However, the film seems to be heading for the $3 million mark after a very successful holiday release in 331 movie theaters across the US.
It's a film we all want to see because we have been told we can't. Personally I think that is the worst thing North Korea could have done. I get that they are upset, and I understand their reasons, but to ban people from doing anything only makes them more determined.
Critics have not been very complimentary about the film to be honest, so maybe Sony have a new worry. The portrayal of Kim Jong-un by Randall Park however, has been highly praised.
The theme of the movie is that Dave Skylark (James Franco) and Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) have a celebrity talk show called "Skylark Tonight". It turns out that they have a surprise fan, North Korean dictator Kim Jung-un who agrees to be interviewed by the pair. However, they are recruited by the CIA to assassinate Kim Jung-un.
As I said earlier, I do get why North Korea are upset by this, but it is meant to be light hearted and not a real threat to Kim Jung-un's life obviously. It actually looks quite funny from the very small clip that I have seen.
