Is The Interview movie going to be released?

The Interview was released by Sony for online purchase on 24th December, 2014, and has since gone on to be the best ever selling online movie Sony has ever produced. 

In just four days, The Interview was downloaded over 2 million times, and this is likely due to the mass hysteria surrounding its lack of release following the hack of Sony committed by Guardians of Peace.

The future

Whether or not the fiasco surrounding The Interview will have any effect on future movies is yet to be seen.  On one hand, some film producers may be more likely to avoid certain topics for fear of retribution.

On the other hand, covering sensitive topics may be a method used by movie producers to gather attention for their upcoming releases.  What is clear, however, is that the majority of movie lovers were not happy that Sony had backed down so easily to threats of terrorism, and it's unlikely that they'll act in the same way in the future.
