Nope, Benedict Cumberbatch was not in A Knight's Tale. I checked out his website and IMDB page and the movie wasn't listed on either.

I'm pretty sure it would have been, even if he only played a minor rule... Unless he was ashamed of being in that movie (some people think it wasn't very good).

Benedict Cumberbatch is not in A Knight's Tale.

I know you're not getting mixed up with Heath Ledger, because the two look distinctly different. But I wonder whether you could be getting mixed up with James Purefoy, who plays Edward the Black Prince in A Knight's Tale.

Here's a set of picture of both Benedict Cumberbatch and James Purefoy:

Looking at them, you can see some similarities, but i can assure you only one of them came anywhere near the set of A Knight's Tale, and it sure wasn't Benedict Cumberbatch.

When A Knight's Tale was being filmed, he was probably busy working on the TV movie Fields of Gold.

He's not referring to James Purefoy. Right before Paul Bettany gives his epic introduction of Heath Ledger for the first time, there is an announcer that is in the movie for just a minute and it is either Benedict Cumberbatch or his doppelganger.
