It's kind of disappointing . They go through the years so fast you miss a lot of what really went on.

Nope, but I play the GoT video game by Telltale. It's awesome so far. I tried watching the show to get some references, but I quickly got bored of it.

I tried so hard to get into Game of Thrones. Every time I watched, my mind would end up wandering to a strange and unknown land. In the end I went back to The Walking Dead. I guess a show can't please everyone. Good luck my friend.

I actually found it a little difficult to get into at first too. I think the biggest problem is that there are so many characters. Even now, I forget people's names and what their roles and backstories are... but I love it. That's not to say it is for everyone anyway :D

I have been working with a few coworkers who absolutely love Game of Thrones. I may try and get into it again. You know what they say, 3rd times the charm.

A show like Game of Thrones require something like http://blog.blinkbox.com/game-of-thrones-a-beginners-guide/ before diving in. Especially if you never read the books. A LOT happens to A LOT of people in the span of an hour. There's technically no main characters. As the focus switches often between a number of them. In the books they each have their own chapters. That's the beauty of it. Along the way there's always something that appeals to somebody. All the characters are unique and special in their own way with their own personal battles.

A dwarf held in low favor by his family for being a dwarf and the cause of his mother's death through birth, who happens to have the most intellectual mind in the entire realm. A Lord's bastard son with nothing to his name going to the edge of civilization to embark on his adventure. A last surviving member of the prior dynasty, pimped out by her brother to nomads, where she gains the favor of their chieftain to amass an army to reclaim her throne. Some bratty royal prince with a punch-able face. Hodor.

There's something for everybody.
