Two of my favorite songs to play when I was learning guitar back in high school were:

Incubus - Drive

Green Day - Time of your life

Great songs! Hey DJ, here's a good list of some songs that aren't too crazy and good to learn on acoustic guitar: http://www.guitarworld.com/guitar-tricks-10-beginner-guitar-songs-are-easy-and-fun-play/24959

It's a bit harder than what the others suggested, mainly rhythmically. Awesome song.

I play guitar myself and this song is real great to play its called gary floyd -https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FmPtf5C9VXc It was my first song learned as its really easy only 3 chords used a,e,d and a scale that it'sself is really easy.

Another would be the End by the Doors as its a haunting composition that would sound great on an acoustic , and finally another good song to learn is the Last Time by the Rolling Stones another relatively easy song on guitar . A better version of gary floyd https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EeT_pNegf_U
