Why is there no quality tv shows on these days. I mean new shows. Maybe I'm getting old, but tv stinks. What do you think?

Nothing but these dumb reality shows.. Who can sing.. Who can dance.. Who can live in the forest.

But NFL has started, and Baseball is good (Blue Jays leading NY by 3.5 games :)) (true I watch CFL, but you do get US football) It will get better in a month or so.

I believe it is because so many of those who appreciate more intelligent shows have moved away networks and moved to cable. Also it because so many TV execs are afraid to try something new and leave it on long enough for people to find it and follow it. The just want to copy what has been bringing in the money, which unfortunately is all to often reality shows. I think many people watch those train wrecks to feel better about their own lives. I also think it is teaching younger people that such bad behavior is acceptable. It is glorified on TV it must be, right? (eye roll.)

I am with you that many of the new shows are crap. I think that has been true for all too long. I am glad to see that we are starting to get some other options though. Netflix is picking up some shows that other have dropped. I like Longmire and was disappointed to see it not renewed. Netflix picked it up and released the 4th season a few days ago. I haven't had time to watch it yet, but I will.

My wife and I won't even get cable or satellite. We'd rather get a service like Hulu Plus and find something good. There a few good shows but they are becoming rare. Best of luck to you!

Producers are running out of ideas to make profit off of. I don't know how many movie trailers I've seen about people being haunted by ghosts and spirits.
