What's a song cover that's as good or better than the original?

This is actually a tribute to George Harrison.  I couldn't believe who all was onstage and just had to share it!  WOW!!!  When the best rockers get together, it ROCKS!

Prince's version of Purple Rain, over the old hillbilly/bluegrass version. 

Van Halen's "You Really Got Me", over the Kinks. 

Metallica did "Turn the Page" at least as well as Bob Seger. 

Alestorm's cover of Hangover is much better than the original version (by Taio Cruz)

Joan Jett's version over the original The Arrows song.

I prefer Amy Winehouse's "Valerie" as opposed to The Zutons.

Ed Sheerans cover of a jessi j song is awesome ! I think it's lovely :)

Here is one where the original is SO good that I myself might question if the cover is really better...but Leonard Cohen himself says that kd lang gives the definitive rendering of HALLELUJAH, which he both wrote and sang (wonderfully).
