No
When I was a kid we didn't have DVDs or even VHS. So I didn't see them at home. And my mom wasn't a movie goer. So no. (The one theater we had in town was very strict about following the rules, so there was no getting in.)
I watched tons of R rated movies as a kid. And I never regretted it. In fact some of my best times came with a great film like some of those. Would even encourage kids to see a few.
No. I wouldn't have understood?
My father used to take me to "R" rated movies while I wasn't of age. While I do not think it hurt me psychologically, I do see that there are some children that this is not ideal for. My own children were only exposed to the correct rated movies.
I was the youngest of 4 kids. My older brother would take me and there was never a problem as long as the person you were with was over 18. My first "R" rated movie was Saturday Night Fever and I loved it 😀. I was the envy of all the 5th graders in my school.
No I was 13 when I watched an R rated movie.
