Does Reality TV Do More Harm Than Good?

Not all reality shows are bad. There are some good also that does not put bad effect rather helps us to take some knowledge from them.

One word that defines reality TV is : UNREAL.

Reality TV are one of the worst programs on TV..theres nothing real about them, and everyone on their are a bunch of drama queens who are just starving for attention.

Yes it does because...

Schadenfreude-the delight in the misfortune of others. Reality television feeds on the fear and humiliation of people.

Lack of reality-reality tv features no reality

undeserving celebrity status-reality tv uses volunteers so those volunteers get instant celebrity status, no working hard or anything.

I think it depends on the show.... Reality shows that feature drinking and young adults having casual sex with everyone they meet can be harmful.  These shows are being watched by teenagers who will think that's what life is all about and that it must be the only way to have fun -- dangerous way to think!  Also, I think some reality tv can set unrealistic goals for teenagers - like moving to "the hills" or "the city" is easy and fun and when you get there, you'll automatically have a great job and lots of money to spend.... WRONG!!    I think tv writers need to start coming up with some better ideas -- there are too many reality shows these days!
