Original was 1989, written by a guy who was attending TSU, I think...
This is my best guess at remembering the lyrics, I really liked the song...

Memory in the making :
Throwing roses at the moon/
overdosing on perfume/
that arises from your pillow/
how much further can our love go/

This is more than I expected/
it's as though I have erected/
a mausoleum for my heart babe/
I've reserved the best part babe/

bridge :
It's a memory in the making /
it's a power that's taking/
control of my heart babe/
now I'm in danger of the dark babe/

And it only goes to show you/
sometimes you don't even know  you/
you're just a ghost in a castle/
that's my destiny to wrestle/

And it only stands to reason/
there's a time and a season/
a place and a purpose/
I guess that verse don't include us/

chorus

Like my mama always said boy
you can sleep when you're dead boy
but all I really want to do is
close my eyes and think of you

throwing roses at the moon
overdosing on perfume
that arises from your pillow
how much further can our love go

chorus

My dad wrote this and he didnt go to TSU. He went to EKU. And it was written in 1979.  He wrote it for a band that played at a bar called The Dog.  The words are a little different when he wrote it for the band, but when he sold it to them they changed some of the words.
