Frank Zappa's son is named Dweezil Zappa. He was born on September 5th 1969, in LA, California. He was the second of Zappa's four children.

His name at birth was registered as Ian Donald Calvin Euclid Zappa, because the hospital refused to make a registration for him under the name Dweezil. Frank Zappa had coined the name for his wife, Gail's oddly-curled pinky-toe. When the authorities refused to register the name Dweezil, to form a name Frank gave them the first names of his bandmates.

His family however always addressed him as Dweezil, and he remained unaware of the name he had on his birth certificate, till the age of five. He insisted on making his nickname the legal name, and Gail and Frank soon made his name official, with the services of an attorney.
