'Gloria' was sung by Laura Branigan and was a hit in 1982.
Another of Laura's big hits was 'Self Control' in 1984 with which she enjoyed a top 5 hit, but she was a very talented lady who also contributed songs to movies and television classics such as 'Flashdance', 'Ghostbusters' and 'Baywatch'
Unfortunately Laura Branigan died in her sleep in 2004 aged just 47. Her death was caused by a previously undiagnosed cerebral aneurysm. It seems she had been experiencing headaches for a few weeks but did not seek medical advice.
It was a tragic way to go, and goes to show that seeking medical advice for even the most innocuous things is worth it!
