The singer is Ronnie Milsap but the actual title of the song is 'If you don't want me to.'
The piano riff, which is the background to the song, is taken from the 80's TV show 'Cagney and Lacey' and was composed by Bill Conti.
However, borrowed riff's aside, it is a good, catchy tune and now I can't get it off my mind so thanks for that :-)
Ronnie Milsap is a bit of a legend, it seems. Between 1974 and 1992 every song he recorded charted within the top 10! That is amazing when you think how music changed over that period, and yet he still remained on top of his game,
Ronnie was the first successful blind singer of country music and apparently hasn't allowed his disability to hold him back.
I'll be humming this tune all day now, but I'm not too sure about learning the accompanying line dance, unfortunately, I have two left feet!
