Taylor Swift isn't known to have any permanent tattoos, but is well-known for having various temporary markings appear on her body.
Lucky number 13
One of the symbols that many of her fans might recognize is the number 13 that Taylor often prints onto the back of her hand. When asked about the significance of the design, her reply revealed a surprisingly superstitious side to her nature:
"I paint this on my hand before every show because 13 is my lucky number, for a lot of reasons. It’s really weird"
Although having a lucky number might seem ordinary enough to most people, Taylor explained that she takes her interest in numerology to a whole new level. In an interview with a British tabloid, she revealed the following reasons for her obsession with the number 13:
- She was born on the 13th of December.
- She turned 13 on Friday the 13th
- Her first album went gold in 13 weeks after its release
- Her first #1 song had a 13-second intro
If you don't think that's spooky enough, she went on to explain that every time she's won an award she'd been seated in either the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section or row M, which is the 13th letter.
Henna tattoo on her foot
Other than her 'lucky number 13' another temporary design Tyler has experimented with is a henna tattoo design of a little heart on her foot. The design originally appeared on her foot for a photo-shoot, and the singer made a vow to have the heart shape permanently inked if her record went double platinum. However, and despite her album reaching triple-platinum status, she went back on her pledge because she felt it would compromise her status as a role model to impressionable teens.
Taylor swift and song lyrics
Taylor is also often seen sporting a string of scripture down the length of her arm written in what looks like felt-tip marker. This isn't done because she has a tendency to forget the lyrics during performances, but rather as a means of highlighting lyrics that seem particularly pertinent to her, such as the line: Tell me everything I want to hear, like it was your favorite year - which is taken from a song by the popular country group The Dixie Chicks.
