It sounds as if you are mixing up movies. The beads around the neck and the slashing of ankles both apply to the "Zuni" segment of TRILOGY OF TERROR. It's on the top 10 of everyone's "what was the name of that movie?" list. TRILOGY OF TERROR does not have a boy in it, however.

There was a gremlin-type creature in the movie 'Cat's Eye'. It tracked a little girl to the new house her family had moved into and then tried to suffocate her to death before her cat intervened. He ends up getting flung off of a record played on high speed into a box fan. He also wore a little jester suit complete with bells. Any chance that that was the movie?

The move your looking for I think is called "cats eye" and I think it was a steven king movie and Drew Berry more played in it maybe 1985 it was after she did et. The monster had a little squiggly sword and the cat helped fight it off. And she did throw it into the fan to kill it and only then her parents saw that the monster was real

Did the monster look like a clown with sharp teeth?  If so, that would have been the movie "IT" (Stephen King).  I haven't seen that movie in a long time to remember what it was about.
