Television itself is not the problem, but the content choices. If they primarily watch PBS documentaries, it is probably OK as long as it does not replace homework and other positive activities. If they are watching South Park and rude or suggestive programming then yes, it would be a dangerous influence. Let's put it this way...if television viewing did not influence teenage behavior, would companies spend millions on short ads? Of course it does. Therefore, if it's a problem, get rid of it.
