Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, has got sole custody of their son, Robert Ritchie Jr. Who is now seven years old.
A paternity suit in 1994 revealed that Kid Rock was the child's father. He has had custody for the last five years.
Custody battle
Another 10-month battle for custody of Robert Ritchie Jr. Has recently ended, with Kid Rock allowing the child's mother more access to their son. Russell had filed for custody, claiming that the star's busy schedule meant that he was not spending enough time with the boy.
Kid Rock had been given custody in the first place because Ms. Russell had a drinking problem, and it was alleged that she had once stabbed Kid Rock in the leg.
Russell was also enraged that Kid Rock had refused to let her spend time with her son throughout the summer vacation. Kid Rock claimed that she had not given enough notice, and that Robert Ritchie Jr. Was already enrolled in a summer camp.
Child support
Part of the new access arrangements means that Russell, who works in a Ford Motor Co. Factory, now has to pay Kid Rock $25 a week in child support. Kid Rock acknowledges that he has absolutely no need for the money, but he reckons that Russell needs to take some responsibility for their child.
Russell's lawyer, on the other hand, believes that Kid Rock's motive behind this demand is more to do with punishing her.
The arrangement, however, means that should Robert Ritchie Jr. Spend six days in one stay with his mother then she doesn't have to pay the child support.
