Kate Middleton married Prince William in 29 April 2011 after meeting when they both attended the same university together. After attending the University of St Andrews in Fife, Scotland, Kate Middleton has not really had a steady job. As you can imagine, being partner to a Prince requires a lot of public appearances so having a career just got in the way of that.
How Kate Middleton first met Prince William
After a gap year in 2000 during which she enrolled on a Raleigh International Program in Chile, Kate began reading History of Art in 2001 at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. It was there that she became friends with Prince William, then they became flatmates and a romance soon blossomed around the Christmas of 2003.
Kate Middleton's early career prior to marriage
Kate graduated for St Andrews University with an MA (2:1 Hons) in History of Art. She then went on to forge her own fashion career by starting up a children’s clothing line. In November 2006, she accepted a position at the clothing chain Jigsaw as a part time accessories buyer. In 2008, it was rumoured that Kate had quit her job at Jigsaw to pursue a career as a professional photographer and that she was intending to take private classes with famed photographer Mario Testino who took many photographs of the late Diana, Princess of Wales and her sons. It was later denied by Testino that Kate was going to work for him.
Most recently, Kate had been working as a project manager and website designer for her family’s private business. However, she stated that she would not continue with this role after she and Prince William were married.
Following the wedding and honeymoon, William seems determined to focus on his flying career in the military whereas Kate seems more than happy to stay by his side as a traditional wife and set up their family home.
