I think the song you're looking for is You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift, which has the following lyrics:

But she wears short skirts, I wear t-shirts She's cheer captain and I'm on the bleachers Dreaming bout the day when you wake up and find That what you're lookin for has been here the whole time
About You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift You Belong With Me is a pop song about a teenage girl with a crush on the boy next door. The boy already has a girlfriend who doesn't understand him, but seems to have a connection with the video's main character, who he communicates with by holding notes up to his bedroom window. Both the main character and the girlfriend are portrayed by Swift in the music video - the former as a nerdy blonde, and the latter as a cheer-leading brunette.

In 2009, the music video for You Belong With Me won the MTV VMA for best Female Music Video, and it was during her acceptance speech that Kanye West famously interrupted her (in what quickly became an internet meme).

The silly thing about that song is that Taylor Swift is comparing herself wearing an item of clothing worn on the top half of the body to someone wearing an item of clothing worn on the bottom half of the body. The fact is, if she wears a t-shirt, what's she wearing round her waist?
And if the other girl is wearing a mini-skirt, what's she wearing over her chest?
Because a t-shirt could be worn with a mini-skirt and vice-versa.

She should've found a way to rhyme words to compare 2 types of clothing items worn on the top half of the body e.g. T-shirts to crop-tops or boob tubes. Or perhaps compare 2 types of clothing items worn on the bottom half of the body e.g. Mini skirts to jeans or pants/trousers or shorts.

I know my ideas of other clothing items don't rhyme with t-shirts or mini-skirts but Taylor Swift being a singer-songwriter would know a way to write a song so that it made more sense in that clothing items worn on the same half of the body could be compared to each other to fit into such a song.
