When a song is first written, there's many changes first before the final draft, right?

Most often this is the way it happens, but not always .  Sometimes writing a one off song can be done quite quickly, however writing an album is usually a different matter all together, and can take weeks if not months to complete .

If you are a careful writer, you do a lot of revising.  But sometimes it just flows and you don't need to edit.  I write a lot of poetry.  Sometimes i go back and change things, sometimes I don't.

Yes a good example is the beatles, many tunes took months to compleat,a few lines here and a few there, few tunes are written as ''one off'' compositions.

Hi Lron, Many thx for your great answer. I have written a song just last night out of the blue. Some songs don't take long & some take months to perfect & some take off right off. I LOVE The Beatles.
