Zippy the character was loud and dominant and was a rugby ball (Initially voiced and operated by Peter Hawkins, it was later on voiced by Roy Skelton.
Bungle was a brown furry bear who was inquisitive as well as clumsy (Voiced and operated by various artist over a period of time they were John Leeson, Stanley Bates, Malcom Lord and Paul Cullinan.) These were some of the characters that appeared on the Rainbow show.

The Rainbow show was a serial for young children and aired in the United Kingdom. It was shown twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays for a period of 20 years from 1972 to 1992. Its main aim was to develop language and number counting skills of pre-school children. It won the "Society of Film" and "Television Arts Award" in 1975. The series was finally ended when Thames television lost its franchises for the series in 1992.
