Most of them aren't "realistic", and they rely on petty drama and shock tactics for ratings instead of actual quality. Think Jersey Shore, My Super Sweet 16, Kardashians, Pimp my Ride, etc.
What are the disadvantages of reality shows?
Many are scripted and certainly edited---not too sure that's "reality."
