RCA Pearl TR1702-A MP3 players are designed to take up very little space. Using regular headphone jacks, they are perfect for use while cycling, jogging, or travelling in general.
Transferring music onto them is done quite easily and most of the work required is done by the computer, or, to be more precise, by Windows Media Player.
As with all MP3 players, the RCA Pearl should be supplied complete with a USB cable. This should be used to connect the player to the user's computer via the USB ports.
Once this has been done and the player has been turned on, the computer will display a message announcing that a new removable device has been detected.
The user now needs to open their Windows Media Player (WMP). Unless a shortcut has been made, WMP can be found in the computer's Start Menu.
At the side of the WMP window is a button labeled Devices. This should be clicked and the RCA Pearl should appear in the list displayed as a result.
Selecting it will result in the loading of a window showing all the music already present on the device.
It is now possible to click-and-drag music from the play list section of WMP into this open window. Clicking Sync will then automatically download all the selected tracks directly onto the player.
An alternative way is to choose the option 'open folder to view files' and drag files from the folder containing music on the computer directly to the device’s folder.
This works well with many other MP3 players, but there is no guarantee that it will work with the RCA Pearl. It is worth trying out, because if it does work, it is a much quicker, simpler way of transferring one's music from the computer to the personal player.
