The group that sings the song that begins with the lyrics "25 years and my life is still" is 4 Non Blondes. The song is called What's Up? And the song continues with the line: "trying to get up that great big hill of hope for a destination. I realised quickly when I knew I should that the whole world's made up of this brotherhood of man, for whatever that means." 4 Non Blondes were formed in San Francisco, California in 1989, and were comprised of vocalist and guitarist Linda Perry, guitarist Shaunna Hall, bassist Christa Hillhouse and drummer Wanda Day. Before they had released their first album, Roger Rocha took over guitar duties from Shaunna Hall and Dawn Richardson became the new drummer in place of Hillhouse. What's Up? Was their biggest hit by a distance and on its release in 1993 reached number one in Germany, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Ireland, Norway and the Netherlands, and number 2 in the United Kingdom, Australia and Israel. The song also reached number 14 in the United States. The album that What's Up? Was lifted from, Bigger, Better, Faster, More!, reached number 13 in the album charts in the United States. The band only had one other minor hit single, Spaceman, before disbanding in 1995. Linda Perry went on to have success as a songwriter for a number of artists including Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys, Courtney Love, Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani and Pink. Pink has performed the song in concert many times over the course of her career, and the song has also been used in fashion shows, video games and has been covered on American Idol. What's Up? Was recorded by DJ Miko and this version, featuring Louise Gard, reached number 36 in the United States and number 6 in the United Kingdom.
