The lyrics ‘the leaning tree ain’t always the first to fall’ are from Minister Win Thompkins and the Stompers's song Leaning Tree.

The lyrics to this song are not currently available online due to copyright reasons. In order to find out the lyrics to this song, you'll need to look for them in any CD insert that was supplied with the album, or make a note of them while listening.

About Minister Win Thompkins and the Stompers Minister Win Thompkins, also known as Uncle Win, was born and raised in south Florida. Raised as a Christian, Minister Thompkins was part of the church choir alongside his nine siblings.

As the boys grew up, they began to travel and sing their gospel music locally and around the country. At the age of fourteen, Minister Thompkins had already recorded his first gospel record which was released as a single on Cross and Crown Records. Since then, he has joined forces with the Stompers to release a number of gospel music albums.

Minister Win Thompkins released a solo album called Minister Win Thompkins’ Foot Stompin’: Volume 1 before joining up with the Stompers. The Leaning Tree is the most recent album to be released by the group and includes the following songs:
  • What’s in your Hand
  • Shakin’ Going On,
  • Dressing Room
  • The Leaning Tree
  • The Lord’s Glory
