Did Sid Vicious Murder His Girlfriend Nancy?

I believe sid was innocent and that it was most likely a robbery committed by one of the drug dealers that were seen in the room that night. If you look up the story, sid was unconscious most of the night, and also, people reported seeing a large amount of money in Nancy's possession earlier that night, and yet no money was found by police at the scene. I guess nobody will know now, since rockets red glare(the other suspect as well as known drug dealer)died a few years back, as did most of the other witnesses in the case.

I believe that it was probably rockets redglare that killed nancy, since he had been seen in the room and several people said sid was in no condition to do anything that morning. There are several websites which delve into this debate. Also, if sid killed nancy, then why was he so despondant saying that he wanted to be dead with nancy, and also writing various suicidal notes. Sid loved nancy. I believe her death was drug related. Rockets redglare was their drug dealer, and he also knew about a supposed large sum of money that nancy had, but was never found by police

I don't think so. When someone has taken heroin they are incapable of anything. I believe there was someone else there that night. His mother killed her own son, so why not his girlfriend?

John Simon Ritchie better known by his stage name Sid Vicious was the bassist of the Sex Pistols a punk rock band of the 70s; he was inducted in the band primarily on account of his looks which went with the punk image prevailing then as his musical ability was limited.

Ritchie later made the acquaintance of Nancy Spungen with whom he developed a relationship. He also got hooked on to drugs at this time which was to make his behavior unstable over the rest of his stint with the Sex Pistols especially on the Sex Pistols tour of the US in 1978 following which he group disbanded.

After the Pistols split, Ritchie performed for a while as a solo artist in New York; on October 12, 1978 his girl friend Nancy was found stabbed to death in their hotel room. The cause of death could not be ascertained and though Ritchie was arrested in connection with the murder he was later released on bail. Ritchie himself died of a drug overdose on February 2, 1979.
