There's nothing more annoying than listening to a song and not knowing how the song is by.
Luckily, the internet is a great source of music-related information, so often finding out the singer of your favorite tracks is as simple as using an internet search engine.
Who sings that song?
The way you find the artist responsible for a song really depends on how much information you have already.
Do you have:
If you've already got the title of the song, finding the artist is really easy. Often you'll just need a line of the song to figure out who sang it, so picking a unique sounding line from a song is the best approach.
For example, if I was looking for the artist who sang the song Like A Prayer, then typing in the lyrics 'when you call my name' brings up a Cheryl Cole song as the first result.
If I type in 'it's like a little prayer' this gives me the name of the actual artist - Madonna.
Searching for a song title on a search engine works in much the same way.
No lyrics, no song title... How do I find the artist of that song?
Sometimes, you might hear a song on an advert or on the radio, and not know any of the lyrics, or the title of the track.
The best thing to do in this case is to search for the place you originally heard the song.
For example, the song on the video game trailer for Max Payne 3 recently caught my attention on TV.
Not knowing the lyrics or song title, I simply searched for 'Max Payne 3 trailer music' to find out that the song is called Tears and is by an American band called HEALTH.
